Directing Actions Through Activities (D.A.T.A.)

On August 7-9, the collaborative SPHARC/LEND Peer-to-Peer was held in Mystic, Connecticut and was designed to facilitate instruction and information sharing amongst ASD/DD Grantees and their state or neighboring LEND program through the illustration and use of concrete examples; how to identify, collect and evaluate data to assess the impact of their pilots, programs and projects on systems of care for children with ASD/DD.  ASD/DD and LEND grantees from CO, CT, GA, ME, MD, OH, TN, UT, VT participated in the exchange.

The objectives for the meeting were:

  1. To identify effective methods of collecting useful data for evaluation of CAAI supported activities within states
  2. To share strategies for successful use of data to build and evaluate systems and to drive policy development for children and youth with ASD/DD
  3. To promote strategic partnerships and collaboration around CAAI evaluation
  4. To assist in the development of an action plan for exchange state teams around data collection and evaluation
  5. To participate in an evaluation (developed by AMCHP with input from participating states)
  6. To identify further areas of technical assistance, if necessary
