School Health

School health is a vital service in keeping a child healthy and promoting healthy behaviors. Promoting healthy behaviors, looking for signs and symptoms of depression as well as behavioral issues, improving physical fitness and mental alertness, promoting positive development, and accommodating a child’s special health care needs are important school health functions.

AMCHP's August 2009 issue of Pulse will provide you with data, recent trends and school health programs, and real life stories about the world children live in when they go to school.
