AMCHP MCH Data Resource Portal 

AMCHP has developed a portal that brings together different data query resources developed by our partners for easy access by our members. This portal is a work in progress as we are always expanding and reorganizing to make this MCH resource portal comprehensive and user-friendly. Please periodically check back for updates.

Title V Information System (TVIS)
Provides information on financial and program data for the most recent year, measurement and indicators, state narratives, data summary reports, and state needs assessments.

National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS)

  • Surveys and Data Collections Systems - systems based on populations, containing data collected through personal interviews or examinations; and systems based on records, containing data collected from vital and medical records.
  • NCHS Data Access Tools - provides links to interactive tables and data query systems.

Kaiser Family Foundation State Health Facts

  • Women's Health Data - includes state data on women's health-related Medicaid information, state insurance mandates, refusal clauses, emergency contraception policies, cancer statistics, and mammogram and pap smear screening.
  • Children's Health Data - create customized children's health fact sheets about a variety of data including infant mortality rates, newborn screening statistics, and state insurance coverage.

CDC’s WONDER (Wide-ranging Online Data for Epidemiologic Research)
Databases and query systems offering health data regarding births, infant mortality, and STD's.

Data Resource Center (DRC) for Child and Adolescent Health
Includes national and state-based data on over 100 indicators from the National Survey of Children’s Health (NSCH) and the National Survey of Children with Special Health Care Needs (NS-CSHCN). The DRC’s easy-to-use interactive search feature allows users to select, view, compare, and download national survey data results for every state and HRSA region.

Health and Well-Being of Children: A Portrait of States and the Nation, 2005
The National Survey of Children’s Health provides information on the health and well-being of children in the 50 States and the District of Columbia. This website presents the survey’s findings for each State and D.C., including indicators relating to the child’s health, health care, and activities; the child’s family; and the child’s and family’s neighborhood.

March of Dimes PeriStats
Developed by the March of Dimes Perinatal Data Center, the PeriStats Web site provides free access to US, state, county, and city maternal & infant health data. Create your own maps or graphs and access state summaries.

Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS)
Monitors priority health-risk behaviors and the prevalence of obesity and asthma among youth and young adults. Site includes a national school-based survey conducted by the CDC and state, territorial, tribal, and local surveys conducted by state, territorial, and local education and health agencies and governments.

Healthy Youth: Data & Statistics
Summary of youth surveillance activities, including health and behavior statistics and school health policies and programs.

WISARS (Web-based Injury Statistics Query and Reporting System)
An interactive database system that provides customized reports of injury-related data.
