AMCHP supports state maternal and child health programs and provides national leadership on issues affecting women and children.

The Affordable Care Act passed on March 23, 2010, presents many opportunities and challenges to state and local maternal and child health programs. This one-day meeting co-sponsored by AMCHP and CityMatCH will provide a forum for public health and health care leaders to assess the impact of health reform on maternal and child health programs. Sessions will be led by policy experts from Washington, DC, and around the country. Many aspects of health reform will be covered, including:

• New programs on home visitation and teen pregnancy prevention.
• Coverage changes and insurance reforms and how they may impact Children with Special Health Care Needs Programs and the families they serve.
• Opportunities to support adolescent health and women's health.
• Community Health Center expansion and other primary care changes that will impact maternal and child health programs. 

Meeting registration is $195 and includes all meeting materials, continental breakfast, lunch and evening reception co-hosted by the Health Resources and Services Administration's Maternal and Child Health Bureau.
