Fourth Annual Social Media Scavenger Hunt
Join us this year for the fourth annual Social Media Scavenger Hunt. It's easy to participate! On Thursday and Friday (April. 7 & 8), answer a series of questions and then tweet your answers using our scavenger hunt hashtag #AMCHP16hunt. Participants who tweet their findings to #AMCHP16hunt will be entered into a drawing to receive a $50 Amazon gift card. AMCHP will Follow you if you participate!  Click here to learn more about the details on how to play! If you have additional questions, please contact Karissa Charles at or tweet @DC_AMCHP.

Innovation Station, AMCHP’s online searchable database for emerging, promising and best practices in MCH, is launching a new practice category: Cutting Edge. Cutting edge practices are considered emerging innovations of existing or new methods and practices. Specifically, these practices may provide an innovative approach to an evolving public health issue; align with experiential evidence inside or outside of public health; show early signs of promise or success; and have an evaluation or quality improvement plan in development. AMCHP will officially launch the Cutting Edge category at the annual conference. Be sure to stop by the Best Practices booth to learn more, access giveaways, submit your own practice or refer a friend! Look for more information on social media by following AMCHP on Facebook and Twitter

During the 2016 AMCHP Annual Conference, the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM-Maternal Health) will hold its annual meeting with enrolled states and partners. AIM-Maternal Health partners with states and major hospital systems to implement maternity safety bundles across birth facilities in at least eight states over the four years of the project. AIM is funded through a cooperative agreement from MCHB/HRSA, and its goal is to prevent 1,000 maternal deaths and 100,000 cases of severe maternal morbidity nationally by 2018. AMCHP and six other organizations are core partners on the initiative.  The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and MCHB would like to invite AMCHP conference attendees to join in on the discussion!

The annual meeting will be open for AMCHP conference attendees between 11:30 am and 4:30 pm on Friday, April 8 in rooms to be announced.  AMCHP conference attendees will have the opportunity to learn about AIM (via an AIM 101 session that starts right at 11:30), participate in a networking lunch with enrolled states and hospital systems, hear presentations from national experts on using data to advance quality improvement initiatives in maternity care, and participate in a town hall on what state leaders need to engage in this kind of work. Please consider stopping by to meet the project team and learn about the initiative. Pre-registration is not required (though AMCHP conference registration is required for non-enrolled states), but if you already know you plan to come by, please email Martha Ngoh ( and Andria Cornell (

An AMCHP tradition, regional baskets will be raffled off during the annual conference. Join the fun! Bring an item that represents your state or region to add to the giveaway baskets. Turn in your item by Thursday, Apr. 7 at 9:00 a.m., at the registration desk. And don’t forget to fill out your raffle ticket and drop it in the box at the registration desk!

Join us at the 2016 AMCHP Annual Conference and get access to individual professional coaching sessions as part of your full conference registration. Coaching is a relationship between a coach and a client to help the client achieve individual goals. Need a career boost, time to reflect on what’s next, or an opportunity to work on your own professional development? Are you ready for change? Coaching is a useful tool and resource to help think through what one wants to achieve, how they might do so and keep one focused on their goals. A coach provides a consistent structure, encouragement and an objective perspective based on the client’s agenda. If you are wondering if coaching is for you, this is a great opportunity to find out.
