Individual Professional Coaching

Join us at the 2011 AMCHP and Family Voices National Conferences and get access to individual professional coaching sessions as part of your full conference registration. Coaching is a relationship between a coach and a client to help the client achieve individual goals. The client is ready for change, to create it and take action—to move forward! Need a career boost, time to reflect on what’s next, or an opportunity to work on your own professional development? Are you ready for change?

Coaching is a useful tool and resource to help think through what one wants to achieve, how they might do so and keep one focused on their goals. A coach provides a consistent structure, encouragement and an objective perspective based on the client’s agenda.

If you are not sure if coaching is for you, this is a great opportunity to find out. Individual sessions are available to conference attendees at no cost. Conference attendees will have an opportunity to take advantage of individual, private 40-minute coaching sessions Sunday Feb. 13 through Tuesday Feb. 15, by registering in advance or by registering on site. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

To find out more about professional coaching at the conference or to register for an individual session, please contact Librada Estrada or call (202) 266-3046.

AMCHP Annual Conference Training Institute

Saturday, Feb. 12, and Sunday, Feb. 13, join us for the AMCHP Annual Conference Training Institute and a full schedule of intensive, highly-interactive skills-building sessions, plus two special events:

Preconception Health Symposium:
Extending our Reach to Adolescents and Young Adults

Saturday, Feb. 12, 1-4:30 p.m. EST
Are you working to implement or enhance your preconception health initiatives? Have you thought about how you could integrate preconception health concepts into adolescent health efforts as part of a life course approach? If so, join us during the AMCHP Annual Conference Training Institute for this dynamic symposium to learn from states about their successes and challenges with promoting preconception health with adolescents and explore how these concepts could be applied in your state. The symposium is open to all conference participants, however, space is limited and registration is required. Click here to register for this symposium.

Life Course Town Hall

Join us on Sunday, Feb. 13 for a lively, interactive conversation about the life course perspective and MCH programs. This event will feature national experts working to integrate the life course perspective across maternal and child health practice. Interested in learning more about this emerging issue and how to link it to your work at the national, state, or local levels? Participate in this exciting opportunity to share your work and learn from others – all part of your full conference registration.

Mini-March for Babies with the March of Dimes

Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. After last year’s resounding success, we invite you to join us again this year for a Mini-March for Babies to raise awareness of and support for prematurity prevention on Monday, Feb. 14.

Bring your warm clothes and walking shoes to DC so that you can be part of the AMCHP Steps for Babies Team! Help us to raise awareness of prematurity, meet local ambassador families, and support the Maryland National Capital Area chapter of the March of Dimes.

Nominate Your Colleagues

AMCHP recognizes leadership in maternal and child health in several ways, including annual awards presented to MCH leaders honoring excellence in the field. The nominations deadline for these awards is October 31, 2010.
