Call for Nominations

The Governance Committee is seeking nominations for the 2016 Board of Directors election. As a board director, you would help shape the policies and positions of AMCHP, represent your Title V peers from across the country, ensure the future viability and financial stability of the organization, work directly with federal partners, and gain leadership experience in a national association.

Positions up for election are:

President-Elect (One-Year Term: January 2016-January 2017)
Support the President to assure Board of Directors fulfills its responsibilities for the governance of the organization; perform duties of president in his or her absence. Work with president to support the CEO in achieving the mission of the organization. The President-elect shall perform the duties of the President during the absence of the President or at the President’s request. The President-elect succeeds to the Office of President upon the expiration of the President’s term of office. A candidate for President-elect must be a Delegate and have served as a member of the AMCHP Board for at least one year in the past five years and as of the date of the next election. Treasurer (Two-Year Term: January 2016-January 2018)
The Treasurer plays a leadership role, with the support of the Board Finance Committee and AMCHP staff, to: monitor the financial status of organization; establish and re-enforce financial policies to protect organization’s resources; ensure the organization is compliant (via audit and annual tax return); and report regularly to Board of Directors. Secretary (Two-Year Term: January 2016-January 2018)
Assure the recording of minutes of all meetings of the association and Board of Directors; notify members and directors of meetings and elections; and be responsible for records and correspondence of association. Support and foster AMCHP’s mission to ensure the health and well-being of all women, children, youth and families, including those with special health care needs. [more information]

Director-at-Large (Three-Year Term: January 2016-January 2019)
Determine policies, procedures and regulations for the conduct of AMCHP; ensure the necessary resources, both financial and other, for the operation of AMCHP and its programs; monitor organization performance; and represent the interests and needs of MCH programs across the country. Regional Directors: Regions I, VI, IX, X (Three-Year Term: January 2016-January 2019); Region II, III, V (Interim Two-Year Terms [IMMEDIATE OPENINGS]: January 2015-January 2017)
Determine policies, procedures and regulations for the conduct of AMCHP; to ensure the necessary resources, both financial and other, for the operation of AMCHP and its programs; monitor organization performance; and to represent the interests and needs of MCH programs in your region. Step 2: Send nomination questionnaires to Nora Lam, AMCHP Senior Executive Assistant (nlam@amchp.org or fax 202-775-0061). Please include the nominee's name, title, agency or affiliation, address, phone, fax, and e-mail. Nominees must be AMCHP Delegates (as designated by their Title V MCH program member and CSHCN program member) whose membership is in good standing. To verify membership status, contact Laura Goodwin, Publications & Members Services Manager. Please obtain permission from nominees before submitting their name. All nominations are due by July 31, 2015.
