 On Your Behalf

  •  From June 15 to June 17, AMCHP staff members Cori Floyd and Kate Taft facilitated the 2016 SPHARC Peer-to-Peer Exchange and grantee meeting in Richmond, Virginia. AMCHP CEO Lori Freeman delivered opening remarks at the grantee meeting; Amy Haddad, Michelle Jarvis and Sarah Beth McLellan presented and facilitated sessions. The June 15 Peer-to-Peer Exchange focused on “Addressing Gaps in ASD/DD Diagnosis.” Health Resources and Services Administration state autism grantees who participated learned more about Virginia’s Autism Spectrum Disorder: Early Systematic Training in Effective Practices (ASD Early STEP), as well as successes and lessons learned from one another for improving systems for diagnosis and evaluation. The grantees also participated in the SPHARC State Autism grantee meeting on Thursday and Friday where the focus was sustainability and planning for the future. The grantees received updates from the Health Resources and Services Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and AMCHP and learned more about Collective Impact, the current policy landscape and tips in applying the standards for systems of care for CYSHCN in their state and family engagement.
