Director of Programs Position at AMCHP
AMCHP is currently seeking a Director of Programs. This position is accountable for resourcing, implementing, and evaluating all activities related to AMCHP's programmatic work. The Director provides leadership and operational management support for all AMCHP's strategic goals and objectives. This includes increasing the capacity of states and territories to use evidence to drive policy and program design to improve outcomes and health equity; contributing to the development of a flexible and skilled MCH workforce; increasing the alignment of resources and the delivery of MCH programs at the federal and state levels; supporting the Policy Team's work to increase investment in MCH; fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth across the program team; liaising with relevant national leaders and representing AMCHP on coalitions and groups; developing funds and a staff team for programmatic efforts to support all work in the portfolio; and supporting or leading special initiatives for the organization. This position requires extensive knowledge of the U.S. health system, public health theory and practice, MCH issues, life course theory, and national, state, and local health programs that serve women, children, and families. An advanced degree with a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience and at least 5 years of supervisory experience required. Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Seeking Title V Block Grant Specialist
This position is responsible for leading the coordination of Title V MCH Block Grants/Programs within the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB)/Office of Family and Community Health Services (OFCHS). This involves responsibility for the oversight of Title V core funding allocated to local health departments throughout the state. In addition, this position also serves as a lead in the coordination of Title V MCH Block Grant strategic planning and application of reporting activities. The individual in this position provides recommendations to the Director of OFCHS on programmatic policies and resource allocation; oversees needs assessment activities and strategic planning activities for the Title V Block Grant Program; oversees the preparation of applications (including budget and work plans) and progress/statistical reports for Title V; and assures compliance with federal and state reporting requirements.
