AMCHP working on your behalf.

  • On Jul. 24 and 25, AMCHP staff Lori Freeman, Erin Bonzon, Caroline Stampfel, Andria Cornell, Piia Hanson, Megan Phillippi, and Temidayo Makinde attended the Infant Mortality CoIIN Learning Session 2 in Boston, MA. AMCHP staff provided technical assistance to state and teams to assess progress across six learning networks and identify opportunities for continued improvements and innovations toward reducing infant mortality. AMCHP staff also hosted an exhibit table to share resources to support improved maternal and infant health outcomes. Piia Hanson and Megan Phillippi presented storyboards highlighting the work of the Safe Sleep and Social Determinants of Health learning networks.
  • On Jul. 26, AMCHP staff Megan Phillippi attended the educational briefing "Tackling Health Disparities in Children: The Role of Medicaid and CHIP in Reducing Disparities" organized by Childhood Asthma Leadership Coalition. This briefing highlighted the latest data on how children of color are faring as well as an overview of Medicaid and CHIP in Reducing Disparities" organized by the Childhood Asthma Leadership Coalition. This briefing highlighted the latest data on how children of color are faring as well as an overview of Medicaid and CHIP, with a focus on how these programs have been working to reduce health disparities. Panelists shared best practices as well as areas where disparities continue to persist, especially in relation to asthma prevalence and management.
