AMCHP working on your behalf.
- On Dec. 1, AMCHP staff Erin Bonzon participated in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Quality Conference in Baltimore, MD. This learning event brought together national health care leaders from across CMS, HHS, and other key public and private stakeholder organizations to foster collaboration, share, learn from existing models of success, and provide training and resources required for the implementation of successful healthcare quality improvement efforts, across the nation. The CMS Maternal & Infant Health Initiative was highlighted throughout the conference. This initiative collaborates with states to promote coverage of women before and after pregnancy, strengthens technical assistance to enhance provider service delivery, and expands beneficiary engagement in their care through enhanced outreach and partnership with other federal agencies.
- On Dec. 7, AMCHP staff Erin Bonzon was a panelist on the Lamaze International Roundtable on Childbirth Education. The roundtable brought stakeholders and experts together to discuss the role that evidence-based childbirth education has in supporting initiatives to improve healthy birth outcomes for all women in the United States, such as increasing patient engagement, shared decision making, quality improvements, and cost efficiencies. As a respected stakeholder and voice on maternal and child health issues, AMCHP will continue to work with Lamaze International to improve outcomes for women and their babies.
