NACCHO Now Seeking Nominations for Board of Directors
The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) is seeking board nominations for Region VII. NACCHO members who are chief executive officers of state health departments in Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, or Wyoming are eligible. [more]

Regional Nutrition and Physical Activity Programs Grant
Deadline: Sept. 15
Grants of up to $40,000 will be awarded by the Aetna Foundation for programs that target communities where healthy food can be difficult to buy, and where social and environmental factors may limit people's ability to be physically active. [more]

Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Research Centers Grant
Deadline: Sept. 16, Letters of Intent due Aug. 9
This grant supports a network of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Research Centers (PRCs) to conduct applied public health prevention research. [more]

Million Hearts State Learning Collaborative
Deadline: Sept. 23
The purpose of this grant is to provide a unique opportunity to utilize a quality improvement process to improve hypertension in the U.S. through heart attack and stroke prevention. Substantial awards will be provided for up to 8 health agencies to participate in this project for a 10-month period. [more]

Fahs-Beck Fund for Research and Experimentation Seeks Applications for Mental Health Research
Deadline: Nov. 1
Grants of up to $20,000 will be awarded to support research of interventions designed to prevent or improve major social, psychological, behavioral, or public health problems affecting children, adults, couples, families or communities. [more]

Social and Behavioral Interventions to Increase Solid Organ Donation Grant
Deadline: Nov. 20
The purpose of this grant is to reduce the gap between the demand for organ transplants and the supply of organs from deceased donors by identifying successful strategies that can serve as model interventions to increase deceased organ donation registration or family consent. [more]
