NCMHI How to Video Series: Fostering Partnerships and Teamwork in the Pediatric Medical Home
The National Center for Medical Home Implementation (NCMHI) announce the release of a series, which aims to make the transformation from a pediatric practice to the medical home model of care easier and more understandable. Three new and free instructional videos make the medical home easier to understand by showing pediatric practices how to implement team huddles, family advisory groups and care partnership support. National Evaluation of the Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (CHIPRA) Quality Demonstration Grant Program Publication
The National Evaluation Team is excited to announce the publication of its third product, Evaluation Highlight No. 3: How are CHIPRA Quality Demonstration States working to improve adolescent health care? This issue brief describes the actions selected demonstration states have taken to enhance adolescent health care, the barriers these states have encountered and strategies for addressing these barriers. Redesigned ASTHO Tobacco Control Page
The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) Tobacco Control Web page has been redesigned and features new resources geared toward state health agencies. Comprehensive Tobacco Control: Guide for State and Territorial Health Officials provides the basic framework that guides state-level tobacco control policies and programs, reviews the current evidence base that supports the framework, and highlights examples from states. Smoking Cessation Strategies for Women Before, During, and After Pregnancy: Recommendations for State and Territorial Health Agencies discusses recommendations such as promoting awareness of cessation benefits and treatment through media campaigns targeting women during childbearing years; extending pregnancy-specific and postpartum specific quitline services to women during and after pregnancy; including women, infants, and children servive sites as points for intervening with pregnant and postpartum women; and highlights examples from states.
