ChildTrends Releases Brief Exploring Link Between Depression and Suicide and Teen Dating Violence
This brief presents an analysis of data collected from interviews of a nationally representative sample of 6,763 individuals as they moved from adolescence into early adulthood. The brief, produced by Child Trends with support from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), draws from data collected by the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health (Add Health). The purpose of the analysis was to determine whether symptoms of depression or suicide in adolescence predict unhealthy romantic relationship outcomes (relationship violence and sexual infidelity) in young adulthood.
