General Maternal and Child Health
2012 Child and Women’s Health Databooks Now Available
The databooks are produced annually by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) in partnership with the HRSA Office of Women's Health for Women's Health USA. They are designed to provide MCH professions with an easy-to-use collection of current and historical data from multiple federal sources on some of the most pressing health challenges facing women, children, families, and communities. Child Health USA 2012 includes several new features: pages on topics such as environmental health, weight control and sedentary behaviors; a special focus on rural/urban data related to birth outcomes; and the latest data on children with special health care needs. New topics covered in Women's Health USA 2012 include adverse childhood experiences, sexual risk behaviors, sexual violence, and Internet use for health information. In addition, the special population section of the report features new data on the health of Asian women, rural and urban women, and women veterans.
