Creating an Incubator for Innovation
As a manager, I find that on many days I have my nose to the grindstone, trying to get critical work accomplished on deadlines with diminishing resources. These are the days when work is, well, work. Perinatal Weight Management - Opportunities for a Lifetime Live Webinar Series
Hosted by the Wisconsin Association for Perinatal Care (WAPC), this live webinar will focus on the Institute of Medicine guidelines for weight gain in pregnancy, strategies for promoting healthy pregnancy weight gain and avoidance of weight retention after childbirth, along with resources for providers and women from the WAPC Perinatal Weight Management Work Group. 2014-2016 Act Early State Systems Grants Request for Applications
Through funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, AMCHP will facilitate a competitive award process of up to $20,000 over two years, to seven state teams led by either the Title V program or a member of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities network, to support the collaboration of Act Early Regional Summit Project teams and to further activities. Home Visiting Applied Research Collaborative
The Home Visiting Applied Research Collaborative (HARC) is an exciting, new practice-based research network devoted to conducting collaborative studies with home visiting programs. [more]



  • On Nov. 12-13, AMCHP staff Treeby Brown and Veronica Helms represented AMCHP and helped facilitate select sessions at the High Expectations: Community Health Workers and Hispanic CSHCN Meeting in Washington, D.C. [more]
  • On Nov. 20, AMCHP convened the second work group meeting of the National Consensus Framework for Improving Quality Systems of Care for CYSHCN project with support from the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health. [more]

USDA Center for Collaborative Research on WIC Nutrition Education Innovations Grant
Deadline: Letters of Intent Due Dec. 18
The USDA/ARS Children’s Nutrition Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine (CNRC WIC Center) announces the second round of funding available for researcher-initiated projects to demonstrate creative approaches to nutrition education for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). Reducing Loss to Follow-up after Failure to Pass Newborn Hearing Screening Grant
Deadline: Dec. 27
The purpose of this funding opportunity is to further focus efforts to improve the loss to
documentation/loss to follow-up by utilizing specific interventions such as quality improvement
methodology to achieve measurable improvement in the numbers of infants who receive appropriate and timely follow-up. [more]

WT Grant Foundation
Deadline: Letters of Inquiry due Jan. 8
The foundation is now accepting letters of inquiry from research projects on youth settings, youth development, youth policy and practices and evidence-based improvements. [more]

Rural Health Network Development Planning Program Grant
Deadline: Jan. 14
The purpose of this grant is to assist in the development of an integrated healthcare network, if the network participants do not have a history of collaborative efforts. [more]
