MA Director, Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Position Open
The Division Director for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) plays the central role in managing CYSHCN programs and services in Massachusetts. S/he provides leadership at the state and national levels to improve and enhance service systems that support children and youth with special health care needs and their families. The director plays a central role in setting direction, and develops, establishes, administers, and monitors policies and procedures for key components of the CYSHCN program. This position will direct and manage outreach efforts; supervise senior division staff; ensure programmatic and fiscal activities are carried out consistent with bureau and department goals; identify and pursue funding opportunities; lead constituency-building efforts; serve as the Department of Public Health point person for statewide medical home activities; and represent the bureau, as appropriate, in the absence of the Bureau Director. AMCHP WIH Team Fall Intern
AMCHP seeks a graduate student intern for fall 2012. The intern will work with the Women’s & Infant Health (WIH) team on a variety of projects and initiatives. Potential projects can include: serving as lead for the team’s social media efforts including drafting timely and relevant content for prematurity awareness month in November; conducting environmental scan and/or key informant interviews to help contribute to national scan of state level programs and policies addressing preconception; working with the team lead on home visiting to develop a needs and strengths assessment for the Home Visiting Technical Assistance Coordinating Center; producing a learning module on the Core Preconception Health Indicators to be hosted on the AMCHP website; and compiling information for an issue brief on coordination between Title V and Title X.
