AMCHP Working On Your Behalf

  • On Mar. 12-15, AMCHP staff Maritza Valenzuela represented AMCHP at the CDC National STD Prevention Conference. Session highlights included emerging research, state efforts in program collaboration and service integration, innovative prevention approaches for women and adolescents, collaboration with family planning advocates, clinical preventive services for women and the CDC sexual health initiative.
  • On Mar. 29, AMCHP staff members Tegan Callahan and Piia Hanson attended the March of Dimes Tri-State Summit at Providence Hospital in Washington, DC. The goals of the summit were to convene stakeholders, advance perinatal health equity by sharing quality improvement and safety initiatives, highlight best practices, and identify gaps in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC.
  • AMCHP is partnering with the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) on the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-supported Quality Improvement Demonstration Project, focused on maternal and child health, chronic disease, and environmental health. AMCHP staff, Lauren Raskin Ramos, participated in the kick-off training meeting for state teams, which include Arizona, Connecticut, Maryland, Minnesota and Oregon.
