- On Jan. 12-13, AMCHP staff participated in the MCHB Region IV/VI Infant Mortality Summit in New Orleans, LA. AMCHP staff members Brent Ewig, Jessica Hawkins, Kate Howe and Lauren Raskin Ramos facilitated State Work Group meetings, and AMCHP CEO Mike Fraser delivered a closing plenary talk. The summit served as the launching point for a collaborative and multi-state initiative that aims to improve infant health outcomes and to reduce infant mortality and prematurity across the nation, particularly among disparate populations. AMCHP members from Regions IV and VI participated on state teams to identify strategies and outcomes to reduce infant mortality in their states, and share best practices, challenges and lessons learned.
