AMCHP Working On Your Behalf

  • On Oct. 8, AMCHP staff Brent Ewig gave a plenary session presentation on the status of Affordable Care Act provisions affecting children and youth with special health care needs at the Annual Meeting of the Illinois Arc and Family Voices in Chicago, IL.
  • On Oct. 13, AMCHP Staff Brent Ewig delivered a keynote presentation entitled "Maternal Child Health Opportunities and Challenges in Health Reform" at the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Annual Conference and Healthy Babies Summit in Waukesha, WI.
  • On Oct. 27-28, Jessica Hawkins represented AMCHP at an ACOG, CDC, FDA and NIAID-sponsored meeting titled, Progress in Overcoming Barriers to Influenza Vaccination for Pregnant Women. This meeting provided opportunity to discuss the barriers to influenza immunization by health care providers and the acceptability and uptake of influenza immunization by pregnant women. The meeting concluded with the discussion of ‘best practices’ to overcome these barriers and identifying strategies to move forward.
