Thought Leaders Convene on Zika
On April 5 AMCHP hosted a thought leaders convening on "Zika and Long-term Implications for Systems of Care" in partnership with the March of Dimes and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The meeting brought together diverse stakeholders from Title V programs, provider groups, university centers, researchers, family partners, and federal partners to discuss implications for health care and service systems to meet the long-term needs of children and families affected by Zika virus.
AMCHP staff Paige Bussanich, Atyya Chaudhry, Maura Leahy, Briana Lewis, Sarahna Moyd, Caroline Stampfel and Kate Taft facilitated the meeting, with Jonathan Webb, Cheryl Clark and Alyson Northrup participating. The goal was to share recommendations and/or opportunities to improve systems of care to address the long-term needs of those affected by Zika, as well as other emerging threats. AMCHP looks forward to broadly sharing the lessons learned from the discussion later this summer.
