50-State Report Examines Medicaid Managed Care for Children with Special Needs
The National Academy for State Health Policy has compiled a 50-state review of states' use of Medicaid managed care (MMC) programs, which are designed to improve the quality of care while reducing costs for the 20 percent of U.S. children and youth with special health care needs. This MMC review examines which CYSHCN groups are enrolled, if enrollment is mandatory or voluntary, the most common types of MMC programs, and how states appraise the quality of MMC. The findings are included in this issue brief and NASHP's 50-state map and state-by-state table.
