Best Practices/Innovation Station

Implementation Road Maps
AMCHP has released “Implementation Road Maps,” an e-learning module to support implementation, adaptation, and innovation of best practices in maternal and child health (MCH). Produced through the Alliance for Innovation in Maternal and Child Health Initiative, the module shares the experiences of MCH leaders in North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada as they implement programs to advance the use of the Bright Futures guidelines, ensuring continuity of coverage and care for pregnancy women and children, and improving systems of care for children and youth with special health care needs.

Catalogue of Surveillance Systems
This catalogue from the National Collaborative on Childhood Obesity Research provides one-stop access to over 100 publicly available datasets relevant to childhood obesity research.

Medicaid & CHIP Scorecard
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services developed this Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program Scorecard to increase public transparency about the programs’ administration and outcomes.

Child & Adolescent Health

State Multi-Sector Framework for Supporting Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Report
Child Trends and the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health released a report providing a framework for state agencies and other stakeholders to review and improve systems that support children and youth with special health care needs.

Physical Developmental Delay Tool
The American Academy of Pediatrics developed this tool to help parents learn more about physical developmental delays for children ages 5 and under, and to help them start a conversation with their child’s pediatrician if they have concerns.

"13 Reasons Why" Toolkit for Teen Mental Health
Suicide Awareness Voices of Education developed this resource as a companion to the “13 Reasons Why” drama series on Netflix in order to promote help-seeking behavior in youth. It has sections for parents, educators, youth, clinicians, and the media, with evidence-based guidance and resources for responding to issues raised in the series, including suicide, school violence, sexual assault, bullying, and substance abuse.

Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome: A Critical Role for Medicaid in the Care of Infants 
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services released this bulletin to provide states with considerations when designing approaches to treatment of infants with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, including Medicaid coverage options and limitations.
