Bev Baker, Associate Director and Co-Director of Leadership in Family Professional Partnerships (LFPP) at Family Voices

Family Voices is a national network of family-led organizations and friends of children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) and disabilities. We promote partnership with families–with a strong emphasis on cultural, linguistic, and geographic diversity—in order to improve health care services and policies for children. We promote health equity, family-centered carefamily/professional partnerships, the inclusion and connection of underserved families, and family engagement.  Through the MCHB-funded Leadership in Family & Professional Partnerships (LFPP) project, we provide technical assistance and support to the nation’s 59 Family-to-Family Health Information Centers (F2Fs) located in every state, 5 US territories, and 3 organizations serving tribal communities. LFPP also provides family engagement support and resources to state Title V and other CYSHCN stakeholders.

After AMCHP 2021, consider attending the 2021 Family Voices Leadership Conference, a three-day virtual event, on June 8, 10, 15, 12:00-5:30pm ET, to learn about the impact that this broad network of family-led and partner organizations have on policies and systems that support CYSHCN, sharing lessons learned, best practices, and resources. Achieving Health Equity is one of the nine conference tracks along with Lessons Learned from the Pandemic, Family Engagement at All Levels, Families and Telehealth, Engaging Youth Voices, Transition, Impacting Policy, Communication Strategies, and Organizational Development.  Visit the conference webpage to explore the 69 live and pre-recorded sessions that are part of this event.

The 2021 Family Voices Leadership Conference will bring together a community of family and youth leaders, Title V staff, pediatric providers, researchers, and other CYSHCN stakeholders from across the states, territories, and tribal communities. Registrants will have access to all conference session recordings and materials for the rest of the year. Scholarships are available. We look forward to seeing you online!
