What is your motivation for running for this office?

I hope to increase the AMCHP focus on health equity and leveraging the contributions of non-health partners, such as business, community to address maternal and child health issues.  Furthermore, NJ has the ability to make significant contributions on behalf of Region II in its work addressing disparities in maternal and child health outcomes.

Provide a personal vision statement for AMCHP.

AMCHP is the premier organization charged with advocating for the Maternal and Child Health Population in America.  Its vision should be to promote population health policies and efforts proven to improve outcomes for women, children (including children with special health care needs), mothers, and infants.

What is your motivation for running for this office?

Quite frankly, I believe in AMCHP’s mission! AMCHP is an organization of professionals who genuinely care about the health of our nation.  I have been in the MCH field for 7 years and I have witnessed the organization fight time and time again to preserve Maternal and Child Health funding and services.  In my state, we cannot advocate for programs that we manage, and I rely on AMCHP to be my voice.  Most importantly though, AMCHP is the voice of people who may not be able to advocate for themselves.  The organization must continue into the future.  If it does not, the health of our entire nation will suffer greatly.

My motivation for running for office is to learn from and coordinate with professionals in the MCH sphere. In addition, as a new MCH Director, I would like to build and sustain professional networks and am interested in leadership roles. Indiana has much to learn, and I believe that through personal and professional connections, our region’s programs can work together to achieve impactful and long last results. I would like to apply the experience I’ve accumulated in previous leadership positions such as workforce development, quality improvement, strategic planning, evaluation, and program development to help build the capacity of MCH programs across Region V.
