Dr. Theresa Chapple-McGruder is the associate director of workforce and capacity-building! Dr. Chapple-McGruder has a Ph.D. in Epidemiology with a concentration in maternal and child health from the University of Illinois, Chicago, an MPH in Maternal and Child Health with a minor in Epidemiology from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a BA in Psychology with a minor in Public Health and Political Science from Clark Atlanta University. Dr. Chapple-McGruder's18 years of experience in public health include serving as the Director of the Office of Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology for the state of Georgia, the Chief of Epidemiology for Memphis and Shelby County Health Department, the Fetal and Infant Mortality Review Director for Memphis and Shelby County Health Department, and Senior Epidemiologist at the University of Chicago, OB/GYN Department. Most recently, she was the Senior Research and Evaluation Officer and the de Beaumont Foundation, where she served as lead scientist for the foundation, responsible for the continued development of the Foundation's intramural research program. Theresa has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, including several on the public health workforce.
